Safari extension · youtube.com

YouTube without the distractions.

FocusTube is a Safari extension for youtube.com. It helps you hide Shorts, reduce on-page noise, and open YouTube to Subscriptions—so you can watch what you opened the tab for.

7-day free trial · same features as paid $5.99 one-time · not a subscription iPhone · iPad · Mac

Why it exists

You open one video. The page keeps offering more.

Shorts, home recommendations, related videos, and end screens are easy to follow—and hard to ignore when you only meant to watch one thing.

Without FocusTube

  • Shorts appear on home, search, and the tab bar
  • Home is built around recommendations
  • Related videos and end screens pull you into the next watch
  • You juggle several single-purpose tools if you want more control

With FocusTube

  • You can hide Shorts entries—or open Shorts in the normal player
  • YouTube can open to Subscriptions by default
  • Recommendations, Mixes, and end screens can stay off unless you turn them on
  • Controls live in one place, and you choose what stays visible

Features

Focus controls for YouTube in Safari.

What ships today: Shorts control, interface cleanup, default landing, and local settings. More is optional—and labeled as such in the app.

01 · Shorts

Control Shorts

Hide Shorts from home, search, the sidebar, and bottom navigation—or open them in the standard player with progress and speed.

02 · Interface

Reduce page noise

Hide home recommendations, related videos, end screens, Mixes, and sponsored placements. Each item can be turned back on if you want it.

03 · Landing

Open to Subscriptions

Choose Subscriptions or Library as the start page instead of recommendation home—when you open youtube.com in Safari.

04 · Privacy

On your device. No account required.

Focus logic runs locally. Settings can sync with iCloud. We don’t require an account, and we don’t run an analytics SDK to profile what you watch.

05 · Purchase

$5.99 one-time

Full Access is a one-time purchase with Family Sharing. Try free for 7 days with the same features as paid. Not a subscription.

06 · Platforms

iPhone, iPad, and Mac

One Universal Purchase for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. FocusTube works in Safari on youtube.com—not in the official YouTube app.

How it works

Three steps to get started.

01

Install FocusTube

Download the app from the App Store. It holds settings, your trial, and Full Access purchase.

02

Enable the Safari extension

Turn on FocusTube in Safari settings and allow access to youtube.com. The app walks you through it.

03

Open youtube.com

Defaults favor fewer distractions. Change any control later in the app when you need something back.

Pricing

Try it free. Buy once if it helps.

Full Access
$5.99 once

7-day free trial with the same features as paid. When the trial ends, FocusTube stops on YouTube until you buy Full Access. Purchase happens in the app—not as a surprise on the YouTube page.

Download on the App Store

Included

  • Focus controls available in the trial and after purchase
  • Settings sync with iCloud across your Apple devices
  • Family Sharing eligible
  • No account required
  • No auto-renewing subscription

FAQ

Common questions

Does FocusTube work in the YouTube app?

No. It only works on youtube.com in Safari. Safari extensions cannot change the official YouTube app.

Is FocusTube made by YouTube or Google?

No. FocusTube is independent. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with YouTube or Google.

Do you track what I watch?

No. Focus behavior runs on your device. We don’t require an account, and we don’t collect your watch history to build a profile. Full detail: Privacy Policy.

What happens when the 7-day trial ends?

FocusTube stops working on YouTube until you buy Full Access for $5.99 once. Opening the app shows a clear screen to purchase or restore. We don’t use a paywall on the YouTube page as the main path.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone, iPad, and Mac through one Universal Purchase. FocusTube is built for Safari on those platforms.

Does it remove all ads?

No. FocusTube is about Shorts control, interface cleanup, and intentional defaults—not a promise of permanent, total ad removal. Don’t buy it only for “ad-free forever.”
